Kristina Janssen, 17, and her horse, Child's Play, just returned from the North American Young Rider Championships held at Tempel Farms in Wadsworth, Illinois from August 10th to 15th. Her team of 4 riders, representing AREA 1 (all of New England and New York State) placed 3rd in the CCI/J* competition. 10 AREAS of the United States as well as Mexico and Canada were represented at the competition. . . .more details. Eventing, an equestrian competition that is one part dressage, one part cross-country riding and one part show jumping, is considered to be second only to the steeplechase among the most demanding equestrian sports. It requires the seemingly paradoxical attributes of grace and grit, toughness and suppleness.
